BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY
Portraits; A non-fundable 20% session retainer is required to book and hold the date for your session and serves as a cancellation fee. However, the fee can be credited towards a future session upon the photographers approval. Remaining balances are due twenty four (24) hours before the session. For cancellation and rescheduling see below.
Mini Sessions; A non-fundable 20% mini session retainer is required to book and hold the date for your mini session and serves as a cancellation fee. All remaining balances are due forty eight (48) hours before the mini session. For cancellation and rescheduling see below.
Weddings; A 30% retainer is due immediately to book and hold the date of your wedding and also serves as a cancellation fee. Date will not be held until retainer is paid. The remaining balance is due two (2) weeks before the date of the wedding. This can be broken up into three payments if you see fit. For cancellation and rescheduling see below.
All sessions and collections can be paid via cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. If a client pays by check, the check must clear before session start time, any uncleared check will have an additional charge of $35 to cover bank fees. The remainder of bank fees must be paid before pictures are released. No pictures, prints or galleries will be released if there is a bill due on the account.
Portraits; If the client reschedules the portrait session by calling forty eight (48) hours prior to the date of session and re-booking session within one (1) months of original session date the fee can be credited towards the rescheduled session. Client forfeits their session retainer paid to book the session if client doesn't call to cancel forty eight (48) hours before mini session time slot. Client agrees to three (3) reschedules before booking process (including new retainer fee) is started all over again.
Mini Sessions; If the client calls to cancel mini session slot seventy two (72) hours before the mini session start time retainer paid for time slot will be refunded. Client forfeits their session retainer paid to book the session if client doesn't call to cancel seventy two (72) hours before mini session time slot. If photographer needs to reschedule mini session due to fire or other casualty, strike, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, photographer agrees to reschedule mini session within two (2) weeks of original mini session date, no longer than one (1) month.
Weddings; If for any reason the Client cancels before the wedding date, the Photographer will keep the wedding retainer fee paid to hold the wedding date as a cancellation fee. Cancellation must be made and sent in via writing, by mail or e-mail. However, if the client requires to change the wedding date, I will do my best to accommodate the change and no fee will be charged as long as the new date is available and within six (6) months of the original wedding date. If I am not available for the new date, the original contract will be cancelled and subject to the cancellation policy.
If Joelle M Photography cannot perform this Contract due to fire or other casualty, strike, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, photographer agrees to reschedule session withing one (1) month or original portrait session date, no longer then two (2) months. In the event the photographer cannot reschedule the portrait or mini session within time frame then the Photographer shall return the retainer fee to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to the Contract.
This limitation on liability shall also apply in the event that photographic materials are damaged in processing, lost through camera or other media malfunction, lost in the mail, or otherwise lost or damaged without fault on the part of the Photographer.
If any cancellation occurs in less than the allotted time frame, client agrees they will lose out on the session retainer and need to start the re-booking process over in addition to paying a new session retainer. For weather cancellations, clients will receive an email to let you know your session has to be cancelled due to weather, Joelle has the deciding decision on if the session needs to be rescheduled due to weather conditions.
